Randy Stephen Hopkins departed this life on Friday, Nov. 7, in Savannah, at the age of 58 years, 9 months, 30 days.
He was born on Jan. 8, 1956, the son of the late Sperry Manning and Ada Faye Hopkins. He was united in marriage to LaJon Fayard of Savannah on July 27, 1984, who survives.
Mr. Hopkins was a retired environmental specialist who worked for the State of Tennessee for 13 years. In his life he has lived in Jackson, Tennessee for 12 years, Tippah County, Mississippi, and Hardin County for 13 years. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and president of the Future Farmers of America. He enjoyed traveling, watching Mississippi State football and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Randy is survived by one daughter, Heather Phillips and her husband Jimmy of Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi; two sisters, Brenda Ramsey of Oakland, Tennessee and Janice Jacobs of Germantown, Tennessee; two brothers, Mickey Hopkins of Millington, Tennessee and Sonny Hopkins of McCrory, Arkansas; and one grandchild, Josie Phillips of Columbus, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sperry Manning and Ada Faye Hopkins.
Services were held on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m., at Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah with Greg Young and Eric Smith officiating. Burial followed in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery at Walnut, Mississippi.
