Ray Phillips Ray "Wormy" Phillips, 79, of Adamsville, died Thursday, Sept. 16. He was born in Crump, the son of the late Bishop and Beulah French Phillips. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Faye Gattis, who preceded him in death. Mr. Phillips was a welder with PCA for 25 years and a member of the Crump First Methodist Church. Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 18, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Griffith officiating. Burial was in the Crump Cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, Ann Spencer of Crump; two sons, David of Lexington, Tenn., and Terry Phillips of Crump; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Allen Phillips of Crump. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dean Cotner.
