Ray Turner, 80, of Savannah, died on Thursday, June 13.
He was born in Waco, Texas, the son of the late Albert and Alma Briggs Turner. He was united in marriage to Ella Durbin, who survives.
Mr. Turner was a firefighter for the Brandon Fire Department in Brandon, Fla., and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a lifelong member of Shepherd’s Chapel in Gravette, Ark.
No services were held.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Durbin Turner of Savannah; daughters, Elizabeth Williams Gibbs, Sarah Garrard, Martha Griffin, and Anna McCasland all of Savannah; son, Andrew Turner of Savannah; brother, Leroy Turner of Reskin, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and Donald Turner.Â
