Reba Estelle Michael Thompson, 85, of Florence, Ala., died Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late James Gilford and Nisha Florence White Michael. She was united in marriage to Edwin Leroy Thompson, who preceded his wife in death.

Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist belief and was a member of White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

Services were held on Sunday, Sept, 11, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jerry Milliken officiating. Burial followed in the White’s Creek Cemetery at Hardin County.

She is survived by four daughters, Linda Scott of Piedmont, S.C., Patsy Stricklin of Savannah, Martha Moore of Indianapolis, Ind. and Beverly Robertson of Killen, Ala.; one son, Jeffrey Thompson of Elkhart, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Etta Franks of Mishawaka, Ind.; one brother, George Wesley Michael of Mishawaka, Ind.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Vinson; two grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Cossey, Flora Freshour, Leona Bevis, Geraldine Ray and Hazel Michael; and three brothers, Clifford, Arthur and James Willard Michael.
