Ricky Buttram Sr. was born on April 2, 1966, in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Shirley Rowland Melvin and the late Billy Wayne Buttram Sr.

On July 18, 1989, he was united in marriage to Samantha Davis, who survives.

Ricky lived in Hardin County for most of his life. He worked for Jimmy Franks Logging as a log truck driver and carpenter for five months but was self-employed as a painter for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Ricky Buttram Sr. departed this life on Thursday, June 14,  in Savannah, at the age of 52 years, 2 months, 12 days.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Buttram of Savannah; three children, Ricky Buttram Jr. of Pensacola, Florida, Brittany Buttram of Savannah and Zachary Westwood of Savannah; mother, Shirley Rowland Melvin, and her husband Tommy, of Corinth, Mississippi; sister, Malinda Ford of Corinth, Mississippi; brother, Billy Wayne Buttram Jr. of Savannah; stepsister, Charity Youngblood of Corinth, Mississippi; and two grandchildren, Maylee Brooke Hunt and Penelope Betty Sue Buttram.

Services were held on Tuesday, June 19, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Rev. James Fitts officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery at Crump.
