Robert Stricklin

Robert Stricklin was born in Hardin County on Nov. 15, 1955, the son of Willie Beatrice Duff Stricklin and the late Lawrence Stricklin.

Mr. Stricklin worked for Roach Sawmill for seven years and had also worked for Hosea’s Sawmill. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and playing horseshoes.

Mr. Stricklin departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the age of 54 years, 8 months, 23 days.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Tammy Lopez of Adamsville; two sons, Bobby Stricklin of Camden, Tenn. and Bryan Stricklin of Michie; four grandchildren, Tiffany Mitchell, Alex McClain, Natalie Stricklin and Graycie Stricklin; a brother, Dave Stricklin of Savannah; four sisters, Willie Ellen Pickens, Dorothy Cook, Judy Stricklin and Betty Jo Murphy, all of Savannah; ex-wife, Marilee McGarity Stricklin of Savannah.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Chelette, a niece, Laura Jo Funderburk and a nephew, James David Stricklin.

Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Larry Vandiver officiating. Burial was in the Wilkerson Cemetery at Hardin County.
