Ruby Austin (1-22-21) service 1-27-21

Ruby Austin, 86, of Bartlett, Tennessee, died on Friday, Jan. 22, at her home in Bartlett, Tennessee

She was born in Sardis.

She worked several years in factories in the Sardis area. She moved to Memphis in 1966 and retired from the City of Memphis in 1997. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church until she joined Macon Road Baptist Church in 2006.

She didn’t have any children but she treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Austin and Lela Austin; and two brothers, Tommy Austin and Roy Austin.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Austin; two brothers, Ray Austin and Fay Austin; five nieces; and six nephews.

Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Macon Road Baptist Church in Arlington, Tennessee, with Kevin Robinson and Wayne Webb officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery at Sardis.
