Ruth “Fran” Cary Flick, age 75, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 4, of cancer, at her home surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m., at First United Methodist Church Vero Beach, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.

Fran was born in Hardin County (Swift), Tenn. on June 28, 1938. She graduated from Savannah Central High School and continued on to receive a degree in Education from Memphis State University in 1961. Fran’s wish was to be a donor for medical research and then cremation. The family plans to take her ashes to Shady Hill Cemetery in Hardin County, Tenn., during the summer of 2014 for burial beside her parents.
