Ruth Young (1-27-14) service 1-29-14

Ruth Mae Young, 93, of Savannah, died Monday, Jan. 27, at Life Care of Columbia Nursing Home in Columbia. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Herman and Annebelle Martin Yancey. She was united in marriage to Barney Young, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Young was a member of the East End United Methodist Church in Savannah. She was a seamstress.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Gail Adcock of Brentwood; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a brother, Glen H. Yancey of Clanton, Ala.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wayne Young and two sisters, Agnes Bain and Elizabeth Prince.

Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 29, in Savannah with Robert Sadler and Mary Foote officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
