Mrs. Sara Cunningham was born on Dec. 3, 1932, in Hardin County to the late Lester D. and Jocie Nix Nixon. On Dec. 22, 1948, she was united in marriage to W. C. Cunningham who survives. Mrs. Cunningham was employed by Aqua Glass Corp. in Adamsville and also by Harwood Manufacturing Co. in Adamsville. She was a member of House of Mercy Church in Morris Chapel. She loved her family and friends and she enjoyed working in her flower garden.

Mrs. Cunningham departed this life on Dec. 3 at the age of 81 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Tim Cunningham (Tammy); a daughter, Marilyn Carter (Doy) of Morris Chapel; three grandchildren, Tracey Carter of Morris Chapel, Mandy Nixon of Adamsville, and Chasity Odea of Oak Grove, Ky.; six great-grandchildren, Lauren Phillips, Addie Carter, Miley Carter, Brenden Odea, Peyton Carter and Gavin Odea; three step-grandchildren Kirby Nixon, Anna Nixon and Hunter Ross; two sisters, Brenda Hanna of Jackson and Jo Wicker of Jonesboro, Ark.; a special brother and sister-in-law, Bobby & Brenda Cunningham; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Cartwright, Myrtle Nixon and Jo Nixon; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, L.D. Nixon, Allen Nixon, Ray Nixon and a sister, Ovada Nixon.

Services were held on Dec. 5 at House of Mercy Church in Morris Chapel with Dennis Moffett officiating. Burial followed at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Morris Chapel.
