Scotty Lyn Plunk

Scotty Lyn Plunk, age 62, of Hornsby, died Saturday morning, Nov. 19, at Bolivar General Hospital.

A native of Selmer, he lived all his life in this area. He was the son of the late Fred Plunk Jr. and Lou V. McGee Plunk. He married Patricia Parchman on Nov. 16, 1973, after graduating from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1972 with a degree in civil engineering. He worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation as Director of Construction for West Tennessee. He was a faithful member of the Hornsby Baptist Church.

He leaves his wife, Patricia Parchman Plunk of Hornsby and his daughter Crystal Plunk Hill of Toone; his sister, Sherry Elmore of Columbus, Miss.; four grandchildren: Caroline and Colleen Avent; Carter and Cooper Hill.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 21, at Shackelford’s Bolivar Chapel with Matt Emerson officiating. Burial was in Wyatt Cemetery in Hornsby. Serving as casket bearers were Timothy Parchman, Jon Salmon, Randy Plunk, Dan Robinson, Victor Weddle, and Richard Atkinson. Honorary casket bearers were John Thomas, James Taylor, Wayne Taylor, Chuck Rychen, Darrel Piercey and Bill Moore.
