Shirley Briley Worley, 84, of Savannah, died on Monday, Aug. 9, at the home of her sister Patty in Savannah.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Lester Donald and Ina Pauline Blasingim Briley. She was united in marriage to C.L. Worley, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Worley worked as a clerk for Wood’s Department Store, formerly The Thrift Store and also the Cotton Patch, both in Savannah. She was a member of Nixon First Pentecostal Church since 1967.

She is survived by her two stepdaughters, Ruth Ann Hughes of Alta Loma, California and Cathy Boeklen of Spring Hill, Tennessee; eight step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; sisters, Johnnie Kate Hendon of Memphis, Patty Barham and Margie Fowler, both of Savannah; and brothers, L.D. Briley of Crump, Danny Briley and Maxie Briley, both of Savannah.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Mildred Worley, Willa Jean Briley, Reba Nell Clayton, Donna Lou Fouse, and Joyce Briley; and one brother, Tommy Joe Briley.

Services were held on Thursday, Aug. 12, at Nixon First Pentecostal Church in Savannah with John Robinson and A.J. Fowler officiating. Burial followed in Pyburn Cemetery at Savannah.
