Violet Duncan

Violet C. Duncan, 102, of Savannah, died Sunday, May 22, at the Hardin Medical Center Health and Rehabilitation Center in Savannah.

She was born in Calloway County, Ky., the daughter of the late Eucelous Carr and Georgia Yates Carr Wright. She was united in marriage to Martin Duncan, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Duncan was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah. She did volunteer work at Hardin County General Hospital.

Services were held on Tuesday, May 24, at White–Ranson Funeral Home in Union City, Tenn. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery at Obion County, Tenn.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Barnes of Savannah and Marcia House of Memphis; two sons, H. Dale Duncan of New Caney, Texas and Van T. Duncan of Kell, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Geneva Wright Jones of Hopkinsville, Ky.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Frank Duncan; two grandsons; and three brothers, Vernon Carr, Mitchell Wright and James H. Wright.
