William Earl Hollins was born in Mississippi on Oct. 5, 1935, the son of the late William Robert and Frances Smith Hollins. In June 1961, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Nadean Crum.

Mr. Hollins lived in Hardin County most of his life and was employed by the Hardin County Highway Department. He was also a self-employed auto mechanic. He served his county in the United States Army. He loved to fish, to work in his yard, and enjoyed all types of woodwork, including building.

Mr. Hollins departed this life on March 9, at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 4 days.

In addition to his wife, Evelyn Hollins of Savannah, he is survived by three daughters, Barbara Thomas of Savannah, Sherrie Garner and her husband John of Memphis, and Linda Boswell of Savannah; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Hollins of Toone; nine grandchildren, Jeremy and Wesley Cossey, Kyle Thomas, Gage and Jacob Boswell, Luke and Adrian Garner, Jonathon Davis and Shea King; four great-grandchildren, Alissa and Sadie Cossey, Addison Boswell and Kelsey Inman; and two sisters, Jeanette Bowden and Pat White, both of Shiloh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William A. "Tony" Hollins and a sister, Diane Borden.

Services were held Wednesday, March 12, at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with James Fitts officiating. Burial followed at Center Hill Cemetery in Counce.
