Willie B. Stricklin

Willie B. "Sis" Stricklin, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 21, at Harbert Hills Nursing Home, in Savannah.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Joe Duff and Mary Ellen Benson Duff Carpenter. She was united in marriage to Lawrance Stricklin, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stricklin was a machine operator for Brown Shoe Company and also worked at Harbert Hills Nursing Home.

A graveside service was held on Monday, Jan. 23, at the Wilkerson Cemetery in Hardin County with Billy Wilkerson officiating.

She is survived by four daughters, Jerldine Stricklin, Willie Ellen Pickens, Betty Jo Murphy and Dorothy Jane Cook, all of Savannah; one son, David Earl Stricklin of Savannah; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lee Short of Rogersville, Ala.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Ann Chelette; one son, James Robert Stricklin; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ethel Pickens.
