Willie K Cromwell (4-24-18) service 4-28-18

Willie K Cromwell of Savannah departed this life on Tuesday, April 24, at the age of 103 years, 5 days.
She was the daughter of the late Lyman Clifford Northcutt and Flora Catherine Stanfield Northcutt. On Nov. 6, 1939, she was united in marriage to Robert Earl Cromwell who preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1980.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Northcutt  Blackwelder and Chloe Alice Northcutt Lee; brothers, Granville Wallace Northcutt and Arthur Frank Northcutt; and grandchildren Christopher Cromwell, Mirian Lassiter, Tod Lassiter and Angie Lethco.
Willie K Cromwell was the oldest member of First Baptist Church, Savannah, and she prized highly the 37 years she spent keeping the nursery there for the youngest church goers.  Quilting and embroidery were two of her favorite hobbies.  All of the quilts and most of the embroidery pieces were given as gifts to family and friends.   Her giving spirit was a defining trait. She served others throughout her life focusing on her family, but including others as well.  She lived a faithful Christian life, worked tirelessly to meet the needs of her family, and epitomized the Proverbs 31 woman.
In addition to her sewing skills, she is remembered for her good country cooking.  No Thanksgiving meal was complete without her chicken and dressing and her delicious chocolate pie.  Retrospectively, a few more of her favorite things come to mind:  a yard full of colorful flowers, Bluegrass music, and Braves Baseball.
Willie K is survived by one sister, Flora Catherine Harris of Sprague River, Oregon, as well as all of her children, Sarah Katherine Marts (husband Bill) of Adamsville, Mary Virginia Lassiter (husband Trellis) of Savannah, Robbie K. Watkins (husband Joe) of Middleton, Robert Eugene Cromwell (wife Faye) of  Toone, and Cloedith May (husband Ed) of Lakeland. 
Known as “Granny” and “Granny Gran” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she is survived by 10 grandchildren,  Jon Lassiter, Joanna Pitts, Caryn Gaastra, Julie Walker, Laura Wells, David Watkins, Danny Watkins, Lisa Dellinger, Mike Archambault, Debbie Simpson;   22 great-grandchildren,  Emily Donahoe, Allie Pitts, Brittany Crigger, Sarah Price, Jennifer Price, Alaina Gaastra, Patrick Gaastra, Micah Walker, Michael Walker, Tyler Lockwood,  Ella Wells, Davey Watkins, Cameron Watkins, Lucy Watkins, Sadie Watkins, Dallas Page Godkewski, Kiarra Archambault, Grace Archambault, Devon Simpson,  Jaxon Simpson,  Kelly Collins, Vicky Cook; and eight great-great-grandchildren,  Kayden Crigger, Zander  Crigger, Declon Crigger, Tucker Crigger, Mackayla Ferrell, Jayden Miller, Benton Godkewski and Alexus Cook.
Services were held on Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Eric Jones and Danny Watkins officiating. Burial followed in New Harmony Cemetery.
