Billie W. “Bill” Gardner, 84, U.S. Army Veteran, of Chicago and Adamsville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Carmelita (nee Soto); and their children, Teresa (Jim Thomas), Ronald (Christine), Dennis and Diana (Joe Moran).

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Shannon, James, Nora (Enrique), Gabrielle, Joseph, Jillian, Mark, Emily, Michael and Sara. He was a cherished great-grandfather to Esperanza; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Martha (William Sloan); and sister-in-law Madeline Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ray Gardner (Thelma), David Gardner, Thelma Sills and Larry Keefer.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Donnellan Funeral Home, 10525 S. Western Ave., Chicago, at 10 a.m. to the start of his celebration of life service at 12 p.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Donnellan Funeral Home.
