Billy Joe Ross, 88, of Savannah, passed away on Friday, Sept. 15, the son the late Cecle and Betty Olene Ross.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Winston, who survives.

Mr. Ross worked as a machine operator at a box company. He was a mason.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ross; daughters, Gloria Jones and Shelia Ross; sons, John Ross, Bill Hill, and Clarence Whitehead; brother, Charles Ross; nine grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Billy Eckstine Ross and Dean Whitehead; daughter, Linda Bingham; sisters, Maud Goodlow, Dora Ross and Betty Jo Casey; and brothers, Cecle Ross Jr. and Louis Ross.

Memorial services will be held on Sept. 23, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Eddie Payne officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
