Billy Sipes Sr. (7-14-22) service 7-22-22

Billy Dan Sipes Sr., 88, of Savannah, passed away on Thursday, July 14. He was born in McNairy County, and is the son of the late Harbert Buell and Irene Mae Kizer Sipes.

Mr. Sipes worked as an electrician for TVA. He was a strong man who lived through so much, including the loss of two children in recent years.

He is survived by his children, Laura Helen Luther, Rebecca Sue Killinger, Linda Jean Knight, Patricia Trantham, Billy Dan Sipes Jr. and Joseph Buell Sipes; many grandchildren; brothers, Larry Sipes and Roger Dale Sipes; and sisters, Reba Doris Dean and Wanda Kay Easley.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by one daughter, Cassandra Irene Maharrey; one son, Roger Lee Sipes; one sister, Jean Isbell; and one brother, Bobby Lee Sipes.

Services were held on Friday, July 22, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Jimmy Timlet officiating. Burial followed at Adamsville Cemetery in Adamsville.
