Bobby Grooms (12-10-23) service 12-14-23

Bobby Ray Grooms, 88, of Saltillo, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 10, the son of the late Alvin R. and Gertie Ellen Kimbel Grooms.

He was united in marriage to Judy Johnson, who preceded her husband in death.

Mr. Grooms honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He worked as a plant manager at HIS in Saltillo. He was a member of the County Commission for Hardin County from 1972-1998. Bobby also served as the Mayor of Saltillo from 2002-2004.

He is survived by his daughter, Karla Bunney; sister, Helen Eason; brother, Billy Grooms; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Daphne Kay Simpson; son, Dennis Joe Kelly; twin sister, Betty Mitchell; brothers, Kenneth Grooms and Kelton Grooms; sister, Ellen Story; and great- grandchild, Breelin Blankenship.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, Dec. 14, at Saltillo Church Of Christ in Saltillo, with Kenny Scott officiating. Burial followed at White Lawn Cemetery in Saltillo.
