Bobby Holmes (1-7-23) service 1-11-23

Bobby Wallace Holmes, 91, of Selmer, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, the son of the late William Talmadge Holmes and Mary Alma Parks Holmes. He was united in marriage to Bobbie Jean Emmons, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Holmes was a member of the Union Grove United Methodist Church. He was also an elected member of the McNairy County Board of Education where he proudly served three terms. He was known by many as a part of the Holmes Brothers Car Dealership.

He is survived by his daughter Diane Fowler of Savannah; a son, Wes Holmes of Selmer; seven grandchildren; seven great-grand children; one sister, Shirley Cupples; and one brother.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Holmes Williams; one brother, Edward Holmes; and two sisters, Faye Glover and Wilma Henson.

Memorial services were help on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, with Barry Henson and Helen Hamilton officiating. Burial followed at Union Grove Cemetery in Selmer.
