Brenda Qualls Spears, 74, of Savannah, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 30. She was born on Jan. 1, 1948 in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Bob and Clara Brewington Qualls.

On Aug. 16, 1969, she was united in marriage to her best friend and the love of her life, Larry Spears, who survives.

Mrs. Spears worked for the Hardin County Highway Department as a secretary. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Savannah. She loved going fishing, traveling, watching hummingbirds, all kinds of animals and going to car shows. She was also well known for her delicious chocolate pies.

She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to help people and would help anyone in anyway she could. She loved her family and friends dearly and most of all, she loved the Lord. She will forever be known as a prayer warrior to all.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry Spears of Savannah; sons, Tommy Spears of Savannah, and Rance Spears and his wife Vickie of Savannah; honorary daughters, Angie Reynolds and Katrina Phillips; niece, Tammy Qualls; nephew, Dean Qualls; grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Spears; and a host of bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lonnie Qualls; and her favorite aunt, Amogene Brewington.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her doctor, Gigi Wood Davis.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, Sept. 1, at Crump Cemetery in Crump, with Will McReynolds and Daniel Holt officiating.
