Danny Fay Banks, 69, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13. He was born in Savannah, on March 1, 1953, the son of the late Harvie and Mary Hollins Banks.

On Dec. 11, 1999, he was united in marriage to Doris Reaves, who survives.

Mr. Banks served in the United States Army for 24 years, for a country he loved and a service he was proud of. He was later employed at FedEx in the IT department and attended Crump First Baptist Church. He enjoyed ham radio, loved his family, spending time with a special grandson, Joshua, and with his friends that were also veterans.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Richard Banks of Memphis, Stephanie Ballman of San Antonio, Texas, and AJ Breeding of Statesville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Joshua Banks, Abygail Romero, James Flaherty II, Kyra Flaherty, Davis Breeding, Gabriel Breeding and Everlee Evans; sister, Kaye Ralph and her husband Bill of Bartlett, Tennessee; and brother, Donnie Banks and his wife Frances of Linden, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Fulton Banks; sisters, Dorothy Alexander, Teresa Jane Wilkerson and Jimmie Allegood; brother, David Banks; and nephews, Darryl Banks and Timothy Franks.

Services were on Friday, Nov. 18, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Lynn Prather officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
