Dorothy Ferrell Tacker Hardin, 96, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 24, the daughter of the late Homer and Lula Hood Ferrell.

Dorothy worked at Brown Shoe Company for seventeen years. She then worked for Hardin Medical Center as a nurse for 29 years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Retta White; sons, Harold Tacker and James Boyd Tacker; sisters, Francis Clement, Nancy Easley and Barbara Ferrell; brother, Bob Ferrell; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Tacker and her first husband, Bernis Hardin; son, Lloyd Tacker; daughter, Rebecca Umphrey; stepdaughter, Karen McDonald; and brother, D H Ferrell.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, Sept. 29, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Gilbert Gough officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Savannah.
