Emma Jack Parker, 92, of Savannah, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Riverwick Assisted Living in Savannah. She was born on May 5, 1930, the daughter of Wheeler and Vianna Cherry Johnson.

Mrs. Parker was valedictorian of her 1947 graduating class. She was a retired secretary at Garan Manufacturing in Adamsville. She was a member of Hollands Creek United Methodist Church in Savannah.

She married Ottie C. Parker on March 2, 1947. Ottie preceded her in death on May 5, 1995. Emma then had a dear friend, Bill Brown, who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2016.

She loved going to flea markets, dig stores and yard sales. She had a large collection of Blue Boy and Pinkies as well as dolls, glassware and numerous other items.

She is survived by her sister, Jo Howell of Nashville; sister-in-law Annie Gail Johnson; nieces and nephews, who lovingly referred to her as “Aunt Jack,” Sharon Bain (Larry), Glona Goodman, Beth Hinton (Calvin), Cherry Denise Johnson (Eddie Malone), Deborah Roberts (Tim), Jerry Johnson (Susan) and David Howell (Bonnie).

In addition to her parents, husband and special friend, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Blurton (Neil); brother, Ray Johnson; brother-in-law, Evan Howell; nephews, Tommy Blurton and John Goodman; and niece, Suzanne McCloud.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 8, at Memory Gardens in Hardin County, with Randy Weatherington officiating. Burial followed services.
