E.P. Shepherd, 76, of Counce, passed away on Sunday, April 2, in Corinth, Mississippi. He was born on March 25, 1947, in Knott County, KY the son of the late Pearl and Sarah Joseph Shepherd.

He was united in marriage to Tommie Roberson on May 25, 1970. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Army.

Mr. Shepherd retired from City of Titusvile, Florida from the waste management department. After retirement, he moved his family to Tennessee to be closer to family. He was an avid reader of western and spy books, a fan of John Wayne westerns, and watching wrestling on Saturday mornings. He loved to fish, hunt and ride his grandchildren on the 4-wheeler.

He is survived by his wife Tommie Shepherd of Counce; two daughters, Michelle Hall and husband Donald of Shiloh, and Melissa Dale of Counce; five grandchildren, Justin Hall and wife April, Jessica Driskell and husband Billy, Julia Harris and husband Evan, Holly Rickman and husband Matt, and Jessica Kiestler and husband Scotty; 10 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Willie Shepherd, Reedie Shepherd and wife Bev, Kenny Shepherd and Solomon Shepherd; five sisters, Ruby Clemmons, Elizabeth Trent, Thelma Trent, Ruth McNevin and Sue Crossman and husband Jim; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, A B Shepherd and Pearl Shepherd Jr.; and two sisters, Helen Smith, Sylvia Pepeferle.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, April 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, with Daniel Hicks officiating. Burial followed at Stantonville Cemetery.
