Ernest Williams (2-8-23) service 2-24-23

Ernest Williams, 68, of Savannah, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, the son of the late At and Marie Scott Williams.

He was united in marriage to Anna Benson, who survives.

Mr. Williams worked as a truck driver for Ingles Sawmill.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Steven Williams and James Williams; daughter, Patricia Hill; sisters, Effie Carroll, Cindy Benson and Connie Word; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a great-grandchild due in April.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Ernest Lynn Williams and Timothy Lee Williams; brothers, Leon Williams and Ricky Williams; and sisters, Bev Hunt and Linda Hunt.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, 11 a.m., at Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Savannah, with Kelvin Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at White’s Creek Cemetery in Savannah.
