Ernestine Pyron Tidwell, 100, of Adamsville, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in Jackson, Tennessee. She is the daughter of the late Ernest “Pete” Pyron and Dorothy “Dot” Stanley Pyron.

Mrs. Tidwell was a member of First United Methodist Church in Adamsville. She worked many years at Garan Manufacturing.

She is survived by a son, Steve Tidwell of Adamsville; a daughter, Cathy Venable of Medon, Tennessee; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tidwell was preceded in death by her husband, George “Jakie” Tidwell on March 14, 1998; and a daughter, Sherry DeBerry.

Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville. Burial followed at Pine Hill Memorial Garden in Adamsville.

Ken Wottowa

Ken Wottowa, 83, of Savannah passed away on Sunday, Oct. 9. He is the son of the late William Joseph and Sarah Francis Gregory Wottowa. He was united in marriage to Jeanine Cook, who survives.

Mr. Wottowa served his country proudly in the United States Marines. He retired from ConAgra, where he worked as a purchasing agent. Ken was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and Ducks Unlimited.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, Jeanine of Savannah, he is survived by one stepson, Frank Green of Adamsville.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Savannah, with Father Dexter Noblefranca officiating.
