Everette Dewayne Turnbow, 83, of Savannah, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 26, the son of the late Grady William Turnbow, Sr. and Cora Mae Hollingsworth Turnbow.

He was united in marriage to Cheryl Dean Meeks, who preceded him in death.

In 1981, Mr. Turnbow retired from the U.S. Army, where he honorably served his country for 22 years, finishing his military career as a First Sergeant. He served his country in Vietnam and abroad and was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal.

He is survived by his daughter, Angella Revis; son, Rodger Turnbow; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister,Catherin Kindrick; and brothers, Sammy K. Turnbow and Roy Gene Turnbow.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Grady W. Turnbow Jr. and Joe Neal Turnbow; sister, Betty Joyce Brown and great- grandchild, Aubrey.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Ed Brennan officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
