Glenda Collier, 79, of Savannah, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5. She was born in Hardin County, on April 2, 1943, the daughter of the late William Grady and Beedie Mae Worley Briley.

On Jan. 13, 1962, she was united in marriage to Marvin Junior Collier, who preceded his wife in death on Oct. 28, 2004.

Mrs. Collier worked at various jobs in Hardin County, and Chicago, Illinois, in which she enjoyed each experience. She settled in Hardin County, where she and her husband established Tri- Matic Springs, Inc., in 1983. There she served as production manager/secretary until she retired in 2004.

She was a devout Christian and member of Olivet Pentecostal Church, where she served as secretary and Sunday school teacher. Just as the disciple Tabitha in the bible, she enjoyed making clothes for people and telling them about the blessings of God. She also enjoyed collecting Marcrest stoneware, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her family.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Junior Collier and his wife Teresa of Savannah; grandchildren, Houston Skylar Collier and his wife Haley, and Shelby Jordan Blackwelder and her husband Logan; great-grandchild, Claire Maddux Blackwelder; and sister, Willie Mae Powers and her husband Johnny of Savannah.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Joe Briley and Earl D. Briley.

Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 11:00 a.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Ernie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery in Savannah.
