James “Buba” Justice, 63, of Savannah, passed away and went home to Jesus on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023. He was born on July 27, 1960, the son of Patricia Vickers and the late Joe Justice.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Tammy Qualls Justice, on July 15, 1993. They spent 30 years by each others side, with hopes of many more. Together, they owned and worked at Justice Auto Service for over 20 years. He was proud of hard work, and loved his customers like family.

Buba enjoyed gardening, drag racing and playing music. He loved Tennessee football and watching the Hardin County Tigers play. His greatest love was his family. He never missed a chance to watch his granddaughter, Kaile, cheer, or grandson, Jamison, play football.

Buba didn’t meet a stranger. He enjoyed going to church and telling others for his love of Jesus Christ. He believed in the “Golden Rule,” and would help anyone he could. If only more people could be like Buba.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Justice of Savannah; children, Brandon Harris and Leslie DeBerry, both of Savannah; grandchildren, Kaile Cossey, Jamison Cossey and JB DeBerry, all of Savannah; mother, Pat Vickers of Savannah; stepmother, Paulette Justice of Adamsville; sisters, Jodie Dowty of Memphis, and Janice Cunningham of Middleton, Tennessee; brother, Calvin Vickers Jr. of Oakland, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends that became family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Justice of Adamsville.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Patrick Godwin officiating. Burial followed at Neill Cemetery in Savannah.
