James Donald Dickerson, 82, of Corinth, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 16, in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he has lived with his children since 2005. He was born on April 28, 1940, in McNairy County.

Mr. Dickerson retired from Tennessee River Pulp and Paper Company. He was a deacon at Oakland Baptist Church. He enjoyed boating and golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Greta Ann Lassiter; father, James Milton; and mother, Lois Virginia Atkins.

Don is survived by his daughters, Ginger Dickerson (Kim Bohannon) and Amy Dickerson Taylor (William Taylor); his son Todd Dickerson (Kalis Egolf); his loving granddaughter, Olivia; brothers, Mike Dickerson (Susan) and Lyle Dickerson (Jane); and sister, Becky Dickerson. Forever in his heart will also remain his nephews; Scott Lassiter (Heather); Tom Dickerson (Melinda), Matt Dickerson (Monica), Chad Dickerson and Drew Dickerson (Angela); and nieces, Jill Dickerson Clark (Chris) and Ellen Burkhalter.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 4, at First Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi, at 3 p.m., with Tommy Vinson officiating. There will be a family and friends visitation in the fellowship hall following the ceremony until 6 p.m. Mr. Dickerson will be interred at Box Chapel Cemetery in Corinth.
