James Floyd Wright, 78, of Shiloh, passed away on Friday, July 29, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was born on July 18, 1944 in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

Mr. Wright attended Tyronza High School in Arkansas. He served as a police officer for Wynne, Earle and Tyronza, Arkansas. After he moved to Shiloh, he worked for Billy Slaughter in construction. He enjoyed family dinners. He loved his sisters Mary Helen and Mildeed’s cooking. In his younger days he loved bingo and dancing. He was of Pentecostal faith.

Floyd is survived by children Jamie White and Kim Force; five grandchildren; sisters, Mary Helen Duncan, Mary White, Jane Hillard; ex-wife, Margaret Beckham; numerous nieces and nephews, and friends who loved him. He is also survived by special friends Diane and Billy Slaughter and Connie Simpson.

He was preceeded in death by mother Mary Jane Byrd; father, Newt Byrd; father, James White; first wife, Carol Poindexter; second wife, Edith Wages; sisters, Mildred Grant, Gladys Fain, Betty Greene and Bonnie Faye Byrd; brothers, Van D Woolsey, Loyce White, Billy Gene Byrd and Johnny Wayne Byrd; brothers-in-laws, Alton Grant, Delbert Fain and Ed Green; sisters-in-laws, Glady Woolsey, Donna Byrd; and nephews, Bill Grant and Jason Stricklin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 250 Chamber Store Road, Michie. No flowers please.
