James Lesley Pruitt, 70, of Stantonville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, in Savannah. He was born Oct. 4, 1952, in Savannah, the son of the late James Allen and Mary Elizabeth Browder Pruitt.

He was united in marriage to Terry Jo Hollin on Dec. 16, 1977.

Mr. Pruitt was a member of West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW and was very active in the America Legion. He was a Mason and a Shriners member. He was a volunteer fireman in Stantonville and had a black belt in karate. He was a man that like to stay busy and spend time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Pruitt; two sons, Jeromy Pruitt, Cody Pruitt and wife Tara; two grandchildren, Mason Mitchell and Kenzie Pruitt; mother-in-law, Phyllis Phillips; sister-in-law, Pat Churchwell; and family and friends, Gary Browder and Patti Browder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Allen Pruitt.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. until his memorial service at 11 a.m. Visitation and services will be at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, with Steve Stroud and Steve Littleton officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Selmer.
