James Ray Davis, 80, of Savannah, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3. He is the son of late Jack A. Davis and Norene Helen Taylor Pruitt. He was united in marriage to Willie Faye Rushing, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Davis served his country proudly in the United States Army in Germany. He worked as a mechanic for Sam Teague Ford for 10 years. He was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church in Savannah.

He is survived by his sons, James Brooks Davis of Jackson, Tennessee, Joel Robert Davis of Toone, Tennessee, and Richard Alan Davis of Gibson County, Tennessee; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Davis Rice and Shirley Davis Fowler, both of Savannah; and brother, Billy C. Davis of Savannah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother whom raised him, Lucille Petigo Davis; son, George David Davis; sisters, Wilma J. Crowe and Mary E. Smith; and brothers, Benjamin F. Davis and James Howard Davis.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah .
