James Anthony “Tony” Lott, 71, of Finger, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, May 20, at his home. He was born Sept. 3, 1951, in Memphis, the son of the late James ‘Jimmy’ and Junell Bishop Lott.

He grew up in Finger and graduated from Bethel Springs High School in 1969. He married Lawanna Jean Majors in 1981. They made their home in the Logan Lake Community. Lawanna preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 2011.

He has been driving a truck since he was eighteen. He drove for Johnson/Clayton Exxon, then became an owner/operator. He hauled livestock , produce, cotton, brick and heavy equipment. He also pulled for First Farmers Coop in Savannah, Chester County Grain in Henderson, Tennessee, Premier Manufacturing and Carrier Air Conditioning. He was known as T. Lott or Little Country Boy to his breaker-breaker buddies.

He enjoyed trucking, equipment auctions, buying, selling, and trading, bluegrass music and watching Gunsmoke and Mash.

He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, his trucking family and spoiling his dog, Molly Blue.

He is survived by a sister, Emily M. Lott of Bethel Springs, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Lawanna Jean Majors Lott.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Henderson, Tennessee. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens of Hardin County, in Savannah.
