Jamie Surratt (8-26-23) service 8-30-23

Jamie Darrell Surratt, 84, of Mason, Tennessee, formerly of McNairy County, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, the son of the late John Petty and Maggie Brewer Surratt.

He was united in marriage to Betty Gail Newman, who survives.

Mr. Surratt worked for Pfizer Corporation in Memphis as an warehouseman for 11 years. He also owned Mom and Pop Grocery store for eight years, worked in the tobacco industry for 30 years, and was Samuelson Leon vice president and sales manager for 30 years. He was of the Methodist belief.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Surratt of Mason, Tennessee; son, Lynn Surratt of Jackson, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Surratt; brother, Weldon Surratt, sisters, Nelda Butler, Hilma Harrison and Nadine Surratt; and grandson, Josh Surratt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a donation to St. Jude Hospital.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville. Burial followed at Milledgeville Cemetery in Milledgeville, Tennessee.
