Janice Rinks, 85, of Counce, passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, in Savannah. She was born on June 8, 1937, in Adamsville, the daughter of the late Robert Page and Reesa Caperton Smith.

In September of 1957, she was united in marriage to Joe Neal Rinks, who survives.

Mrs. Rinks was a member of Pickwick United Methodist Church, Republican Women’s Club and was the president of Shiloh Falls Homeowner’s Association. She formerly worked as a substitute teacher in Bristol, Tennessee. She loved artwork, sewing, and vegetable and flower gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Rinks of Counce; sons, Tim Rinks and his wife Melanie of Eads, Tennessee, and Jeff Rinks and his wife Barbara of Winter Gardens, Florida; and four grandchildren, Haley Rinks, Matthew Rinks, Melissa Rinks and Caroline Rinks.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Perry.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Adamsville Cemetery in Adamsville, with Rick Pinkston officiating.
