Jarrod Wayne Alexander, 48, of Savannah, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 1. He was born on Jan. 24, 1975, in Jackson, Tennessee, the beloved son of Jeanette Alexander and the late Jackie Neal Alexander.

Mr. Alexander worked as a correctional officer for CoreCivic at the South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton, Tennessee, as well as being a professional auto body repair mechanic for many years.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He never met a stranger and to know him was to love him. He was known for his big, dimpled smile, contagious laugh and generous heart. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family and friends. He loved his family and was so very proud of his daughter, Katie, who he cherished.

He is survived by his only daughter, Katie Elizabeth Alexander; and her mother, Jessi Baggett Alexander, both of Humboldt, Tennessee; mother, Jeanette Alexander; sister, Jennifer L. Alexander; brother, Joshua Lee Alexander and his wife Abby; nephew, Brody Jack Alexander; niece, Sadie Belle Alexander; lifelong friend, Stacy Williams; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his father, Jackie Alexander, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Dovie Horton; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Theo Alexander; and brother, Joey Neal Alexander.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Daniel Holt officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Savannah.
