Jeannie Rickman Sloan, 77, of Crump, passed away on Saturday, May 20. She was born on Oct. 25, 1945 in Shiloh, the daughter of the late Joe Rickman and Nona Evelyn Glover Rickman Gray.

On Dec. 14, 1968, she was united in marriage to John Curtiss Sloan Sr., who preceded his wife in death on March 6, 2010.

Mrs. Sloan worked at Pickwick Landing State Park for 44 years and enjoyed her work there and loved getting to know all of her many customers. She also worked for FHA for four years. She was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church, PEC board, and Fraternal Order of Police #37 in Shiloh.

She loved her grandchildren and always supported them in anything they were involved in. She also enjoyed watching motorcross racing and participating in contests and sweepstakes.

She is survived by her son Curt Sloan (Jennifer) of Crump; daughter, Tanya Sloan (Greg) of Adamsville; sister, Mary Ruth Driskell of Shiloh; grandchildren, Curtiss Sloan (Kara), Lacey Wilkins, Jamie Wilkins (Kaylie), and Tyler Driskell; and great-grandchildren, J.C. Price, Cullen Price, Nora Sloan, and Layton Sloan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn Ross; and brothers, Terry Rickman and C.D. Rickman.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, May 24, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Rannie Moore officiating. Burial followed at Shady Grove Cemetery in Shiloh.
