Jeffrey David (Dave) Pettigrew, 57, of Adamsville passed away in Hardin County on Thursday, Dec. 30. He was born on July 13, 1965 in Selmer, the son of the late Joe David and Dorothy Jean Jones Pettigrew.

Mr. Pettigrew grew up in the Gilchrist Community of McNairy County along with his siblings. He started driving an 18-wheeler at the age of 12, traveling from Tennessee to California. He loved being on the road and meeting new people along the way.

A devoted family man, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and siblings. He was the happiest when he was surrounded by his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Cole Pettigrew and wife Brittany, Dalton Pettigrew, Garrett Pettigrew and partner Tess Smith, Preston Pettigrew and partner Shay Frye, and Weston Pettigrew; wife and mother of his children, Tammy Pettigrew; six grandchildren, Reid and Rylee Pettigrew, Ty Smith, Paisley and Camdynn Pettigrew, Robert Umstead Jr.; and stepchildren, Shelby and Garrett Maness; two sisters, Mitzi (Pettigrew) Mitchell, Leigh (Pettigrew) Evans and husband David Lynn; a brother, Marty Pettigrew and wife Michelle; uncle, Sammy Jones; aunt, Betty Stocks; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Clay Pettigrew; brother-in-law, Steve Mitchell; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Alene Chambers Pettigrew; and maternal grandparents, Zelford Clyde and Artie Lee Nixon Jones.

Services were held on Thursday, Jan. 5, at Mt. Sharon Presbyterian Church in Adamsville, with Chuck Castles officiating. Burial followed at Gilchrist Cemetery in Adamsville.
