Jerry Harmon, 78, of Savannah, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10. He was born on Oct. 4, 1944, in Colbert County, Alabama, the son of the late Elvin and Gladys Marie Franks Harmon.

On Nov. 2, 1968, he was united in marriage to Linda Mathews, who survives.

Mr. Harmon worked for TVA-Yellow Creek for 10 years, TVA Dam for 3 years and American Food Service for 20 years. He was a member of Savannah Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, going to ballgames with his grandchildren, going to the flea market, and talking and visiting with people.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Harmon of Savannah; son, Brent Harmon and his wife Annette of Savannah; sister, Barbara Conner of Savannah; and grandsons, Ben Harmon and Cade Harmon.

Memorial donations may be made to the Savannah Church of Christ or the Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center.

Services were held on Sunday, Feb. 12, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Barry Binion, Dennis Usner and David Baker officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
