Jerry Neal White, 85, of Morris Chapel, passed away on Thursday, July 14. He was born in Hardin County, on Nov. 5, 1936, the son of the late Homer and Edra Lane White. On Feb. 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Polly Parrott, who preceded him in death on Feb. 17, 2011.

Jerry served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961 and was a lifelong farmer in Hooker’s Bend. He was a board member of the Hardin Farmer’s CO-OP and Farm Service Agency. He loved his animals, fishing and hunting. Jerry will be remembered as a kind hearted man that would do anything for his family, friends and neighbors.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Yvetta Godwin and her husband Greg of Franklin, Tennessee, Wanda White and Juanita Stewart and her husband Ronnie, all of Morris Chapel; and grandchildren, Kristen Albers, Justin Albers, Graeme Godwin, Patsy Stewart, James Stewart and Angel Stewart.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister, Nell Garey; and brothers, David White and Larry White.

Services were held on Monday, July 18, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Gene Hanna officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery in Morris Chapel.
