Jimmy Dale Slaughter, 73, of Adamsville, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24. He is the son of the late Carl Newton and Estahlee Markham Slaughter.

He was united in marriage to Linda Sue Rippee, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Slaughter owned and operated Slaughter Trucking for over 20 years. He was a migrant farm worker and served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by two sons, Carl Slaughter of Adamsville and Tim Slaughter of Iuka, Mississippi; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Travis Slaughter and Marty Rae Slaughter; and two sisters, Alice Faye Martin and Martha Sue Hubbell.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Newton Slaughter and Marvin Lee Slaughter; and one sister, Mary Cleo Slaughter.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Combs Cemetery in Adamsville, Tennessee. Arrangements were handled by Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer.
