Jo Ann Hendon Brewer, 85, of Crump, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Hardin Medical Health & Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. She was born to Clemon and Bertha Gann Hendon in Cerro Gordo, on Aug. 11, 1937.

Mrs. Brewer attended schools in Hardin County, graduating from Central High in 1958. She married Elver Cazmo Brewer in 1957 and moved to Aurora, Illinois, in 1961. She worked at various factories throughout her working life. She retired at 62 and after a year of staying at home she reentered the workforce as a Walmart greeter where she remained until she was 80 years old.

She moved back to Crump after the passing of her husband of 64 years and made many good friends in her new home town attending South Shiloh Full Gospel Church with pastor James Newcomb. She was a friend to all and loved to sing and regale friends and family with stories of her many life experiences and would not hesitate to lend a helping hand when needed.

She is survived by her son Dennis S. Brewer and his wife Alison June Muir Brewer of Royal Wootton Bassett, England; two brothers, Drexel and Wayne Hendon both of Memphis; and one sister, Wanda Kaye Kirkman of Crump.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Oather Hendon of Memphis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives; who will miss her wonderful loving nature and her infectious sense of humor.

A grave side service was held on Friday, Nov. 25, at Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville.
