John W. Wright Sr. (12-24-22) no service date

John W. Wright Sr., 73, of Millington, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, Dec. 24. He is the son of the late Bidwell and Eloise Barber Wright. He was united in marriage to Sherry Johnson.

Mr. Wright Sr. attended Collierville High School but did not graduate. He joined the U.S. Navy and got his GED. He then worked at Memphis Furniture Company and security for Baptist Memorial Hospital. He then worked as a private investigator until he retired in 2013.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ed Vaughan, brother, Tommie Wright, his sister, Joyce Vaughan Smith; and his son John Wright Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Johnson; daughter Amanda Bond; sister, Terry Caughan Lewellen; brother, Jerry Vaughan; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
