Jones “Butch” E. Travis, 80, of Pickwick Dam, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, in Brandon, Florida, after a brief illness. He was born on Dec. 6, 1941, in Huntsville, Alabama. He grew up in Nashville graduating from Cohn High School and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in West Nashville.

Mr. Travis was a Navy veteran and worked for UPS for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 88. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the Titans, Vols and Nascar. His love of music was displayed by his karaoke singing. He was an awesome husband and had many friends who loved him.

He is survived by his spouse, Tobi Howell Travis; his sons, Steve (Kim) of Knoxville, Mike (Lisa) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and son-in-law Mickey Miller of Pickwick; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Travis, Carol Greer (Ray); and brother, Charles Ray.

He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Ragan Nichols Miller; and son, Christopher Travis.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on a later date. He served on the board of The Darryl Worley Foundation for 10 years and donations can be made in his name to Darryl Worley Foundation, 315 Main Street, Savannah, Tennessee, 38372.
