Joyce Pierce, 82, of Savannah, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26. She was born in Hardin County, on Sept. 8, 1940, the daughter of the late James Wilson and Margaret Kelley Riddell.

On Sept. 11, 1959, she was united in marriage to Larry Glen Pierce, who preceded his wife in death on Dec. 2, 2015.

Mrs. Pierce was a graduate of Savannah Central High School, class of 1959. She worked for 42 years as a supervisor for Angelica Company. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church and Hardin Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, working with flowers, traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two sons, Keith Pierce and is wife Lisa, and Chris Pierce and his wife Brandy, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Alli Pierce, Tim Pierce, Emma Pierce and Molly Pierce; one brother, Jerry Riddell of Savannah; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins that loved her very much.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Beth Holt.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Tyler Webb officiating. Burial followed at Neill Cemetery in Savannah.
