Junior Deshazier, 74, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29. He was born on April 14, 1948, in Hardin County, the son of the late Gilbert Leslie and Ruby Jones Deshazier.

On April 10, 1971, he was united in marriage to Nettie Tanner, who survives.

Mr. Deshazier worked as a grinder operator at Rose’s Sawmill. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nettie Deshazier of Savannah; daughters, Rebecca Franks of Savannah, and Tracy Brown and her husband Robert of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; brother, G.O. Deshazier and his wife Carla of Adamsville; sisters, Inez Wilkerson and her husband Johnny, and Christine Melson and her husband Ben, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Brittany Talley and Tyler Crotts; and great-grandchild, Jase Talley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Logan and Ethel Mae Morris; and brother, Wheeler Deshazier.

Services will be held on Friday, February 3, at 1 p.m., at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Savannah, with Ernie Cordova officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery in Savannah.
