Larry Plunk, 80, of Crump, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 12. He was born in Crump on March 28, 1943, to the son of the late Grady and Jewell Gladish Plunk.

Throughout his life, Mr. Plunk dedicated himself to Pickwick Landing State Park, where he worked for an impressive 33 years. He attended First Pentecostal Church in Crump and cherished the time spent with his family and friends.

In his leisure time, Larry enjoyed riding horses, indulging in classic westerns and The Andy Griffith Show, as well as following wrestling. These pastimes brought him joy and allowed him to relax and unwind.

He was preceded in death by his son Kevin Plunk and wife Mary of Adamsville; daughter Laurie Raines and husband Scotty of Adamsville; two grandsons; Logan Raines and Hudson Raines, both of Adamsville; step-grandson Jesse Thacker and wife Kelcey of Adamsville; great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Thacker; great-grandson, Houston Thacker; and numerous extended family members and friends, all left to cherish his memory and who held Larry dear to their hearts.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville in Adamsville, with Jonathan Cooksey officiating. Burial followed at Crump Cemetery in Adamsville.
